Moderate drinkers are better than non-drinkers, says French research


People who drink alcohol in moderation are on average better health than abstainers.

They said today a group of French scientists, led by Boris Hansel Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in Paris, in a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

The researchers found that the main benefits from alcohol but does not directly result from indirect effects: less stress, exercise more and enjoy better health.

The researchers studied over 150,000 French, dividing them into four groups according to alcohol consumption: those who never drank, occasional drinkers (less than 10 grams of alcohol per day), moderate drinkers (10-30 grams per day) and habitual drinkers (more than 30 grams).
